Why is it OK for Sarah to be uninformed and lack knowledge
Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 04:44 PM by katty
of countries (even her own) (other than Russia-and that's debatable)some major supreme court cases, a couple of big newspapers, mags -- WHY does SHE get a pass and be careful Joe, be delicate with Sarah...bla bla bla...don't challenge the obviously challenged 'candidate' --why?!! she is one step away from being President of the United States-she SHOULD be informed, we've had 8 years of the chimp already! and we're now on the brink of disaster?!! I say go for it, Joe.

1. Because she's folksy, you feel like you can have a cup of coffee with the girl....
Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 05:39 PM by GreenTea
just like having a beer with the folksy little frat boy Bush, and wow, Palin's a Christian to boot, just like the frat boy Bush says he is....That's good enough for me!

People don't see it much farther than those two things....because they get their info from talk radio and/or Fox news and television or emails from idiot friends who watch that shit....However, the coffee lovers, they do pay much more attention to what the stars are wearing, and the beer drinkers, if their their teams quarterback throws too many interceptions ..Yeah...USA, USA USA!

You think republicans aren't aware of this and don't plan their strategy around these unaware people.

(And now their strategy is also not to remind folks that McCain & Palin are not republicans who got us into this mess, but the GOP, or conservatives, candidates for the people, anything, but don't tie them in as republicans or least as little as possible).

15. I just heard on Tom Hartmann
an excerpt of Palin talking about health insurance she was saying her and Todd had some rough times where they had to pay for their insurance "out of pocket" until they both landed "good union jobs" Does the Palin McCain ticket support unions. She continues to put her foot in her mouth EVERY-TIME she opens it. And she lies. She has nothing to do with Putin and she does'n read what she touts she couldn't even name One.

17. Man, she'll have to retract that & not let it get media exposure, republicans hate, despise unions!
Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 05:40 PM by GreenTea
They don't want workers to have a voice in the work place....Take what the company wants to pay you, shut the fuck up or we'll replace you.

Wal-Mart mentality, is the goal now for all corporations...If you control & fuck over the worker you increase your profits and you can not pay health insurance benefits & steal their pension (if they have one)....The corporations can't do it if there's a union....And why the republican hate unions....Palin won't be mentioning unions helping her ever again.

It makes my head hurt...but not enough to seek help from my corporate-provided health care!

If God wanted her to know something, she'd know it.

At this point, God obviously needs a laugh with the weaker minded among His flock. It's been 20 years since He told Pat Robertson to run for president (and embarrass himself) or when He told Oral Roberts to raise a bunch of money or He'd "call him home".

5. She shouldn't! But CNN just replayed a couple of tape clips of
Lazio crossing the stage into Hillary's space during a debate, and I think he sunk his campaign with that move. They also shows a clip of Gearaldene Ferraro and GH Bush where Geraldene rebuked GH for insulting her.

Like it or not, it's viewed very poorly in the US.

13. I just saw an utterly absurd segment on CNN w/Hugh Hewitt.
He's a RW radio host. His argument is that all journalists/TV media types are out to get poor little Sarah; their questions are designed to trip her up and it's so very mean of the "liberal elite media".

How dare they question her about the Bush Doctrine? How dare they ask her things she may not know, just to make her look bad? John King, CNN dude, did not call Hewitt on the obvious - he allowed Hewitt to dominate the segment without pointing out:

Palin is running for VP; she may be president. The American people absolutely deserve to know if she's knowledgeable and capable and no question designed for that purpose is out of bounds.

You're an idiot John King and I laughed at you.

That said, this "Joe Sixpack" strategy by the McCain campaign will not work. Rove did the same with Bush and Palin is even WORSE than him. They pulled it off then but not this time.

21. I don't know....i got pissed last night.
Also the last few days. I mean they have lowered the bar so low for this dolt, and given her every advantage in the debate as long as she does not brick right on stage she wins.

Biden can't be mean, he can't be condesending, he can't be arrogant, he must play nice, yammer, yammer, yammer. All the while it'll be fine if she comes off as a bitch on wheels.

I appologize to all other women but moose face, i'm just pissed how the talking nit wit heads are spinning it. K.O. was my only sanity lastnight. Have not even turned on the T.V. today.

23. Because thats how republicans like it. The dumber, the better.
Just look at the mouthpieces and leaders they follow in lock step:
George Bush
Bill O'Reilly
John McCain
Elisabeth Hasselbeck
Sean Hannity
Rush Limpball
The entire "glass half full" CNBC crew (try listening to them one afternoon, you're brain cells will implode)
The list goes on and on and on. Each and every one of these republican cheerleaders have peddled in lies and mind numbing spin without any remorse. Everytime I wonder what the hell is happening to this great country, I hear someone I know regurgitate nonsense they've picked up from those above and all the others we all know too well. It's sad, really. The distortion of reality has become so prevalent, it's beginning to seep into those who'd you least expect it. Charlie Gibson and Brokow come to mind. I'm afraid this incessant muddying of the waters is fast turning into a mighty river washing over the eyes of those too overwhelmed to rise above the tide. I hear everyday from people around me trying to parse what is happening and it's near impossible to counter the vast amounts of misinformation.

The republican spinmeisters know that if they keep shoving their lies along loud enough and long enough, some or most of it will stick.

26. ... and Palin reinforces that the only way a woman can 'get ahead'...
... is to be pretty, ditzy, and laughable. A 'trophy politico', if you will ... an equal partner in name only.

'Cause a woman like Hillary Clinton who has a higher IQ than most of the Republican party combined and refuses to rely on 'feminine wiles' to get the boys to do her dirty work for her, WILL BE STOPPED in her tracks.

34. You know,. I must be an absolute freakin' GENIUS.
I live in Oklahoma, redneck capital of the world, and I grew up in the middle of nowhere in a cinderblock house with no inside walls. I was lucky--we had plumbing and an indoor toilet. You'd think I'd be dumb as a stump (or the rest of my family), but I went to college--hell, I went to graduate school, even if it was in performing arts. I actually LIKE learning about new places and things, new thoughts and ideas. I've traveled in and outside the country and would love to go again if I could afford it.

Every morning before I get in the shower I get online and read the Yahoo new roundup, our local piece-of-crap newspaper, the NY Times, Washington Post, and CNN, as well as several political blogs--I can't start my day without it. On the weekends I read other online newspapers and magazines, anything from politics to knitting. I can converse pretty well on many current news topics, but don't ask me about Brittany or Lindsey Lohan, I don't have a clue.

I would be so privileged to run if offered the chance to serve.

Of course, I also live across the street from a synagogue, so I guess I'm now qualified to be a rabbi. Just call me Reb'FifthGenDem. La shannah tovah, everybody!

But seriously, Palin lacks CURIOSITY more than anything. If she was halfway curious, she'd appear so much smarter than she does now.

37. Based on her replies in the Gibson/Couric interviews,
Gov Palin is becoming perceived as being what was once referred to as 'SPECIAL'. And, most of us were raised to be polite to those who are not quite as mentally acute as the general population. Or, as my mother used to phrase it, "If I EVER see you pick on, mock, or be impolite to someone who is mentally slow, you WILL regret it!"

Most of us got that lecture from our parents. To see Joe Biden go after Sarah Palin may spark this reaction in some of the voting public.

38. It's his debate to lose.
What will kill Biden is overconfidence and/or being rude or appearing rude. That's pretty much par for the course in any debate.

Take the Katie Couric interviews, for example. All you have to do is politely ask a question and let Palin hang herself with her verbose nonsensical nonanswers. Ask her to clarify and she stumbles and bumbles some more.

Palin will probably pick up some canned soundbytes in debate camp, but there is only so much a person can learn in a super short period of time.
