California governor vetoes Harvey Milk bill
California governor vetoes Harvey Milk bill
Published: 9/30/08, 12:05 AM EDT

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has vetoed a bill that would have made the birthday of gay political icon Harvey Milk a statewide "day of significance."

In his veto message issued Tuesday, the governor said that while he respected the measure's intent, he thinks Milk's "contributions should continue to be recognized at the local level."

9. He truly is a POS. Do you remember when he wanted to have dogs put down
after 48 hours instead of 72?

I hate that man. He just made the list.

11. I did, too. And fuck Dick Cheney for our fake power shortage.
We were *this close* to losing California altogether. Remember Kevin Shelley? He was our Dem Secretary of State that was the first one in the whole country to go after the voting machine scams. They were only able to run him out of office because Davis was gone.

We were *this* close to going straight to hell.

13. I think we should just celebrate that day anyway.
And it should start off with a mock recall of the Grope as we "recall" Harvey.
