More tragically humorous "news" stories from that bastion of fundie nuttiness, the American Family Association's OneNewsNow website:

Google undermining traditional marriage
Jim Brown - OneNewsNow - 9/30/2008 6:00:00 AM

A Christian conservative activist in California says he will be using a new Internet search engine now that Google has publicly proclaimed its support for same-sex "marriage" and its opposition to the state's marriage protection amendment.

Google joins a growing list of major U.S. companies urging California voters to reject Proposition 8. The list includes AT&T, Levi Strauss, and Pacific Gas & Electric.

Writing for Google's official blog, co-founder Sergey Brin suggested the marriage protection amendment would have a "chilling and discriminatory effect" on many of the Internet company's employees. According to Brin, "we should not eliminate anyone's fundamental rights, whatever their sexuality, to marry the person they love."

Randy Thomasson of the Campaign for Children and Families says young billionaires Sergey Brin and Larry Page (Google co-founder) have "replaced all notions of God's truth by worshiping money as god."

"You might have noticed that their website...actually avoids...Thanksgiving, diminishes holidays like the Fourth of July, gives sarcastic tribute to Easter and Christmas, and actually elevates more pagan-type holidays to their liking," he points out. "So, it's no surprise whatsoever."

Thomasson is calling on supporters of traditional marriage to take action with their pocketbooks. "There needs to be a response from people who will say, 'I'm not going to put a dime of my money or time into businesses that are attacking the sacred institution of marriage,'" he argues.

And the pro-family activist has some suggestions on how to do that. "Don't buy Levis. Don't use AT&T. Don't use Google," states Thomasson. "We've got to take a stand, and our money is generally how we vote with our conscience -- at least we need to start thinking that way."

Brin points out in his blog that Google generally does not take a position on social issues.

1. I'll make sure to use Google four times as often.
Gotta do my part to support companies who stand behind equality.

3. While I am gratified by the support of a search engine,
I find a boycott somewhat odd.

5. "Don't use Google"
Yeah, that will be an effective campaign. That's the internet equivalent of saying "don't breathe air." Sergey Brin must be quaking in his sneakers!

Why don't these nutjobs just live in caves and arm themselves with pointy sticks? You know they want to.

10. Google acknowledges Thanksgiving
And I'm not sure how they can be diminishing the 4th of July, or what Jesus has to do with either one.

Just another ignorant Christobigot.
