Links For Best/Most Credible Article For and Against The Bailout?
Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 04:32 PM by Median Democrat
Does anyone have good links that explain the need or lack of necessity for a bailout that is written by someone credible? I am not asking for some anti-tax screed written by Grover Norquist, but by someone who is an academic or is a respected economist or finance expert who does a good job of explaining the impact of the credit crunch, and why a bailout is or is not necessary.

Thanks in advance.

3. Krugman and Reich Appear To Be For A Better Bailout...
Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 04:35 PM by Median Democrat
They agree with the need for a bailout, but think the current bill needs to be improved. So, they are pro-bailout, but with amendments. Still, they don't really say the bailout in its current form will or will not work. Rather, they are more concerned with the lack of oversight.

4. And the oversight has been developing
what I fear is that now that the pukes held their breath the dems will cave on even LESS oversight... and more tax cuts

5. Joe Stiglitz Is Also Pushing For A Better Bailout
The problem, of course, there is a wide disparity in what folks think should be included in the bill. Still, there is not a comprehensive discussion of the problem, and solution alternatives.
