3. too much credit and blame
You give way too much credit to the president to be able to make either a good or bad economy.

What did Clinton specifically do to make a good economy?

How about the economy under Carter (bad) or under Reagan (good)? Economies do not really correlate to the presidential party.

Clinton also benefitted from a huge technology boost to stocks, unrelated to anything he did or didn't do.

6. Really?
I must be imagining all those lines around the block at gas stations.

A poor economy was one of the reasons why Reagan was able to unseat an incumbent president.

9. Gas crisis was worse under Nixon.
1973....

The Repukes asking Iran to hold hostages until after inauguration in swap for weapons did Carter in.

7. you don't understand Republican economics flow chart
If the economy is doing well, and the Republicans control one or more of the following: Presidency, House or Senate, then the branch they control gets the credit.

If the economy is doing well, and the Republicans do not control any of those three, then go back in time to when they did control at least one of those three and that branch gets the credit for the policies they initiated at that time.

If the economy is doing poorly, and the Republicans do not control at least one of those three branches, then the branch(es) that the Democrats control get the blame.

If the economy is doing poorly, and the Republicans control all three branches, go back in time to when the Democrats controlled at least one of the three branches and blame the policies they initiated at that time.

12. Shhh...
You're not supposed to mention that!
Heck, I'll even give Bushie a break for the decline in the economy in late 2001 and all of 2002 due to September 11 - but to have no recovery whatsoever after that? It's incredible mismanagement.
