My radical plan to deal with this crisis
1) The House names a new speaker -- somebody both sides can pretty much agree to.

2) Bush and Cheney resign in disgrace over their handling of the economy.

3) The new speaker takes over the duties of president until the new president (most likely Obama) can take the reins.

After THAT, the Congress should take whatever stop-gap measures are needed to calm the market and start working on a better bill.

1. My plan:
Let nature take its course. People will be forced to live within their means. What a novel concept.

2. What about the guy who
put in 35 years at his job, saved as much as he could in a 401K, and now won't be able to retire until he's 90?
