13. I think the House is playing Good Dems Bad GOP again, so that they do not have to pass this shitty

bill and can blame it on McSame. Just like last Friday. I don't think anyone wants to pass it, so the moderates pretend they are going to, and then someone says something that "pisses the other side off" (wink wink) and then they all blow up and go home.

I believe it is coordinated.

If they actually just do nothing, then Bush blames the economy on Congress, so this way they can say it was Bush's fault for giving them such a suspicious proposal and McCain's fault for interfering and the Bush's fault for starting the whole mess in the first place which forced the GOP to support him out of party unity when the Dems criticized him (fairly) so that now they can not get anything done.

I picture them in a back room thinking of more ways to keep from voting on this bill that their opponents back home will use as a campaign issue against them.

The whole mess worked out so much in the Democrats' favor that it's hard to believe it was all an accident; on the other hand, it all worked out so well that it's hard to believe it was planned, too.

I have similar suspicions over Obama using "lipstick on a pig". That was pretty much the last straw for McCain's shenanigans; he hasn't been taken entirely seriously since then.

I don't like her myself. But I do agree with, and grudgingly applaud her speech the other night. Though at the same time I'm thinking she's entirely two-faced. I liked her when she first became Speaker of the House. I don't now because she tends to back down and give in too easily. Even so, if she pissed off some republicans I'm happy.
