2. No, but I heard a WaMu commercial on the radio.
It happened during a break on a talk show that was talking about WaMu being seized.

3. what's it matter? they haven't shut down operations.
you'd still get a credit card and a credit limit.
maybe eventually it would be replaced with a chase card, but what difference does that make?

4. WaMu didn't evaporate into thin air
It still had some profitable business that were absorbed by larger banks.

10. WaMu is still in existence. My branch down the street hasn't changed one
iota. The transition to JPMorgan/Chase will take months. Lots of new letterheads to print up and offices to redecorate in the new colors, lol. Gotta train staff in the new policies and practices, too.

6. Yes, but I also still see commercials for Enzyte
and it's creator (who is in jail on tax evasion charges, I believe)admitted it doesn't work.

8. I have a checking account and a credit card with them. NOTHIING
has changed. Still the same smiling faces down at my local branch. The teller said they would eventually phase in the new name, redecorate the place, new computer programs, new upper-level management, staffing changes, etc. Said it will take a few months.

The bank has been BOUGHT, not shut down. There is actually a difference. Sheesh.

12. My wife and I each got one last week,
and we each got an offer for a Visa card today as well as a reverse mortgage offer on our house for over 300% of what we paid for it.
I was reading an atricle on MSN on the "crash" today, and the ads on the webpage were ALL for low-rate mortgages, re-fi's and credit/loan companies.

Same old shit.

13. They're still building them.

I'm an estimator for an HVAC (heating, ventilation, air-conditioning) distributor. We're still bidding equipment to contractors who are still building Washington Mutuals.

Oh and fuck-fuck-fuckety-fuck-fuck for the language monitors.
