Can The Congressional Dems Ever Trust Any Deal With Republicans Now?
Seriously, Pelosi was stabbed in the back by the Republicans. How can she ever trust a word they ever say again?

And does that mean there will be no bail out until after the election? Can it wait that long?

What I dont understand.. is that we have the same conditions now as we had a week ago? WHy did Bush bring this Bill now and why all the panic talk all of a sudden? Just last week the "Fundamentals of the market" were sound? Obama will have to fix this mess when he gets in anyway... why make it worse. Already heard on CNBC that this a stock buying opportunity.

3. But we don't have the same conditions we had a week ago
A week ago, we were going to bail out AIG.

That's no longer the case.

5. and the preceding 25 years was just, what? Youthful indiscretion?
Any Democrat that puts any faith in what the republiks say should be dumped for sheer stupidity.

6. I don't think pelosi was stabbed in the back

I think the Dems played it well. It seems that the house could have passed this without the support of the republicans (if they really wanted to) but were smart enough not to fall into that trap. 2/3 of the dems supported it and they needed 2/3 of the republicans to support it as well.

It is not something any of them want to do, so if it really is that important then it will be a bipartisan solution or no deal.

The Dem's were not about to pass this and get themselves (and obama) labeled as the big business party.

They played it just about right, I think. Not that the 'pubs won't try to smear everyone with it anyway, but at least they don't have the ammo of an onerous bill.
