This should be a lesson to us all to STOP using the stock market as a measure of our economy!

The economy has been horrible for years, the only reason Washington and the media has noticed is because Wall Street is doing bad.

We could all be starving in the streets, but if the Dow Jones was up, then that would mean the economy is just fine.

We need to use the Gini coefficient and the "Doug Jones Average" to see how economy is doing instead of measuring our economy based on how well the richest and most powerful are doing.

Our government needs to realize this: Using the stock markets to measure our economy is very flawed and continuing to do so will mean that our government has learned nothing from this crisis.
