Standard & Poor's Ratings Services on Monday placed Citigroup Inc.'s AA-/A-1+ rating and Citibank's AA/A-1+ rating on review for a possible downgrade.

"We do not expect the ratings to fall by more than two notches, to 'A+/A-1' for Citibank and 'A/A-1' for Citigroup Inc.," said S&P.
