If McCain was so Powerful and such a Maverick how did we get into this mess.

If McCain was so Powerful and such a Maverick how did we get into this mess.
Why didn't he oppose it beginning some twenty years ago. If he did oppose the deregulations (which he did not) then it would appear he is not very effective. If he did not oppose the deregulations which is in fact the truth then he is a Responsible party. He just can't have it both ways. He either was for it or against it. His party was in Control for over a Decade. If he opposed it he was ineffective..He gets to make the choice as to whether he was an ineffective Senator or a Responsible Party. It is indeed one or the other.
