"Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation."
On cars and electronic products, software and food products...of them all only the last one is a true "need"...and it's cheap enough to that most folks will pay for it (although its price is growing...and that is starting to hurt.) You need at least minimal overhead regulations of course but on health care...Jesus Christ are they completely oblivious here?
More competitive?
There still are going to be a boatload of folks that are not going to be able to afford coverage no matter HOW many players are in the game. Not everything is suppose to make a fricking profit!
It'll still be a hegemony that will work together to keep profits up no matter what how they spin such an action.
