Yes, 3% isn't so great- that's what my credit union pays on savings- though there are higher rates than that- but taking your money out and stashing it somewhere- that just isn't very smart.

Also, people with 401k or who have stock plans with their companies are going to suffer too- right alongside Wall Street and the banks that people seem to hate to such an extent that they're willing to fuck everyone else in the country over in order to get their childish way.

My retirement account is no safer than anybody else's (and is out of my control) but I don't see that as a reason to sell out America's future. So what if we don't get to freaken enjoy life the way we thought we deserved. Principles really are important.

I'm in the biz of taking money from a lot of people to pay for their rent. The ratio is 1:5 in number of people paying cash/MO vs check to pay their bill, and they're not illegal immigrants.
