Why is Dodd fighting for ownership of this bailout?
He was just on Scarborough actually trying to take credit for this for the Democrats. I don't think that is smart.

2. Probably the same reason he got less than 2% of the vote in the primary.
If I were him, I would keep the hell away from the cameras and tell them to talk to Bush, he's the guy responsible here.

3. The bailout had to be done. Dodd as well as the dems have said over and
over again, they have had to swallow hard on this. However, with Dodd's position on his committee, he had to display leadership to get this deal brokered. This also is the reason this had to be a bi-partisan bill, not ownership by one party or the other. He wasn't saying that but trying to explain what was done, why it had to be done and how it got done.

The whole thing pisses everyone off but it is something there was no way out but to do this.

5. It's a ploy.
The GOP act like babies. They only want the toy everyone else is playing with.

If Dodd can make the bailout seem like a special toy, the GOP will take it away from him.

6. It isn't smart, it's dumb. It is going to cost us the election
but Dodd is too stupid and too much in the pockets of these WS asshats to know it.
