Home's Upside-Down American Flag To Protest Economy Sparks Outrage
Home's Upside-Down American Flag To Protest Economy Sparks Outrage

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- A large upside-down American flag being flown at a home until the economy improves has sparked outrage in a Central Florida community.

Kevin Welsh, who lives near Rosemont in Orange County, said he's flying the upside-down flag because too many people are suffering financially.

Welsh lost his job and may soon lose his home to foreclosure, Local 6 reported.

The flag is a call of distress and a symbol of a broken government, Welsh said.

"The government needs to get upright," Welsh. "I'm in distress. Everyone is in distress."

3. The outrage of a dimwit
From the story:

A neighbor and war veteran said he is outraged over the upside-down flag.

"It hurts because you've been over there fighting for something and you have somebody else who is using it for a different meaning than freedom," the neighbor said.

Dear Stupid Neighbor:

You don't have a copyright on using the flag. It's not personal to you. Get over it. Get over yourself, you whiny ass titty baby.

Love and kisses,
Your friendly neighborhood

4. I'm with you brother - lost my home in Florida 2 months ago - We are in this together!
I have heard my parents talk about the Great Depression, but I never thought I would be living through something like it. The jobs are drying up quickly in Florida. Most are part-time and don't pay more then $8 an hour! Walmart is even hiring retirees to fill positions so they don't have to pay health insurance to younger employees. My MBA is like a piece of toilet paper and we have moved on to try and start over. My dream home is now gone. Even if the "bail out" comes about we couldn't have afforded the insurance and taxes on top of the mortgage without a good job! It is VERY depressing and we are all in distress!

5. A flag is a privately owned thing. It can also be burned. That is
freedom of speech as decided by the Supreme Court. :dem:

6. People sweat the small stuff too much
So what if the flag was upside down? That doesn't affect anyone's life if you think about it.

7. I'm thinking we should all get "Don't Tread on Me" flags
Seems an appropriate thing to do. Maybe all of us "little people" should fly one.

My neighbor, growing up, was a judge and flew that one. I always thought it was pretty cool.
