McCain camp prays for Palin wedding- LOL
IN an election campaign notable for its surprises, Sarah Palin, the Republican vice- presidential candidate, may be about to spring a new one — the wedding of her pregnant teenage daughter to her ice-hockey-playing fiancé before the November 4 election.

Inside John McCain’s campaign the expectation is growing that there will be a popularity boosting pre-election wedding in Alaska between Bristol Palin, 17, and Levi Johnston, 18, her schoolmate and father of her baby. “It would be fantastic,” said a McCain insider. “You would have every TV camera there. The entire country would be watching. It would shut down the race for a week.”

There is already some urgency to the wedding as Bristol, who is six months pregnant, may not want to walk down the aisle too close to her date of delivery. She turns 18 on October 18, a respectable age for a bride — and the same age as Barack Obama’s pregnant mother when she married his Kenyan father. The Democrat has already declared Bristol’s private life off-limits as far as his campaign is concerned.

The selection of Palin, 44, the moose-hunting governor of Alaska, as his running mate was one of McCain’s biggest gambles. It paid off handsomely at first, but she could benefit from a fresh injection of homespun authenticity, the hallmark of her style, provided by her daughter’s wedding after appearing out of depth away from her home state.

2. Why would anyone be watching a shotgun wedding?
This entire campaign is a fugging circus.

3. An actual wedding? With the mother six months along? Is America
Edited on Sat Sep-27-08 04:21 PM by Tarheel_Dem
that addled? A marriage ceremony would be respectable, but a wedding with the mother about to drop is just too hillbilly for me. That will last about as long as the initial Palin glow, and that didn't take long.

4. Actually, that might turn a lot of people off
Especially those who know the downfall of marrying someone just because you're having a baby together.

5. An aside-
It scares the hell out of me to see Sarah Palin and the number 44 so close together.

6. through the looking glass
where are their values? using a pregnant teenager's wedding as a campaign distraction. have they no shame? no honor? is this the kind of political exploitation we can expect for the next 4 years?

if bristol goes into labor prematurely, will they have Faux Spews in there to handle a live feed? will mccain ask to postpone the elections? will he suspend his campaign?

arrrggghhhhh

7. you mean the "alleged" father of the baby, yes? I STILL want to see a dna test on that child.
(sorry, my mind may be in the gutter, but given what we know of some sicko reichwing fundie families, I would be truly surprised if that hockey player is truly the sperm donor)

16. Jerry Springer show would be better for them.
I'm just waiting for Palin's family crisis to pop-up before Thursday's debate, so she would have to miss it.

11. Mmmm....I doubt it happening...would lead online people to start digging deeper
into the whole Bristol/Levi mess. Seems everytime I got online back when Palin finally admitted Bristol pregnancy there was a whole new layer of messiness seeing the light of day. Too many inconsistancies in the bullshit that the Palin family was trying to shove down the public's throat. The timelines put together by online community punched more holes their "thats our story and we are sticking to it" than a piece of swiss cheese. No way Palin or the Mctroll camp want seomthing like THAT to be brought up again.
I'm thinking we have seen the last of Bristol/Levi til after Nov 4th. And seeing as how Palin/Mclame losing on Nov 4th is getting more real everyday...we have probably seen the last of the teenage couple already.

I hope the media won't go along for that particular ride.

18. A respectable media would not waste their time covering such a wedding.
On the other hand our media ceased being respectable some time ago.
