How would you describe Obama's voice?
I was thinking how I never listen to Bush for all the obvious reasons, but Obama is the absolute opposite. I could hang intently on each word. It has something to do about the quality of his voice. Does anyone else hear the same thing?

4. sometimes he throws in a slight southern accent, sometimes he doesn't.
It depends on the crowd he is with.

22. I don't know if it's "southern"
I kinda thought it was south side Chicago that he throws in occasionally. A street lilt.

Engaging, maybe slightly too wooden lately. Needs to interject a little more of the passion of the Primaries IMO.

5. Confidence inspiring.
Even when he gets jacked up, he's even spoken, never rushed, never squeaks or loses his tone.

8. Ive found him to have two voices
The calming voice he uses in smaller venues (and debates), and a faux Southern drawl I find slightly annoying when he's speaking at some large events.

23. Stump speeches are for inspiration---he lets his inner voice, his spirit, come out.
Why on earth would that be annoying to you? I actually LOVE it when he lets go, and I believe that is why he touches so many with his oratory.

When I was in my teens, I remember being thrilled whenever I heard MLK's voice as his spirit soared and was released during his speeches. Obama reaches those heights during some of his speeches, and when he does, there is nothing faux about it.

When you are around people in the South, you will tend to draw out your words a bit. I have found myself doing it when I have visited there. He has been in the South for the last several days (FL, MS, NC) so it is not surprising to me that he would do that; however, the lilt in his voice that comes when he is on fire, is not fake. He had that quality in his voice when he spoke in NC today.

12. Pleasantly deep voice with no discernible accent that
places him in a particular section of this country as my southern accent certainly does...so I'm told, but then I don't hear it. :-) Yes, I know what you mean. I always here his voice when he says at the end of his ads: "I'm Barack Obama and I approve of this message." Most of the time I don't even listen to the message...just his voice.

I hear what he says, and I am inspired to believe that America can. Is it the voice or the words? At any rate, a mesmerizing combination.
