1. I think there may be bigger turnout for the VP debate than the prez.
Biden's debate skills are renowned & Palin's are infamous. I think the media is counting on a huge viewership for this debate. I don't think the McCain campaign can play the "we're going to cancel the debate" card again. The media will devour them & the American people will smell the huge pile of poo that is the Palin selection. Maybe, not the fundies, but they are lost anyway.

5. Of course they will
Face it, the woman can blab away at length. People who don't listen to the content will think she's dead clever.

You know, morons. Her base.

7. I thought her 'base' was more along the line of cretins.
I could be wrong though... :)

8. agreed. Press will note that Biden sat slackjawed in response to her answers.

3. Palin called away for a family emergency. Biden answers questions for a hour.
Take it to the bank. Well, not a US Bank.

6. I know it won't make any sense, but believe it or not
the excuse will be that she's inexperienced at debating

the groundwork for that excuse has already been laid - some of debate rules/format have already been modified to accomodate her inexperience at debating.

---snip---
Ed Rollins, a CNN contributor and Republican strategist, said Palin has lost her confidence in recent weeks.

"This was a very confident woman, the first presentation she made -- she walked in the biggest crowd she ever had," Rollins said, referring to her debut as McCain's VP. "The second was the convention. She had great confidence. She's lost her confidence."

---snip---

In what could play to Palin's benefit, campaigns try to downplay expectations for their candidates while raising expectations for their opponent, as they did before Friday's presidential debate.

Palin was to spend Saturday and Sunday preparing for the debate in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She'll campaign with McCain in Columbus, Ohio on Monday, and will spend the rest of the week practicing for the debate in St. Louis.

---snip---

The vice presidential debate will resemble the traditional presidential event. However, the New York Times reported last Sunday that the McCain campaign sought to limit the time for freewheeling discussion in the vice presidential debate.

Advisers to Palin were reportedly worried that format could put the Alaska governor -- a relatively inexperienced debater -- on the defensive most of the evening.

The agreed-upon format for that debate now includes an abbreviated two-minute discussion period during which the candidates can engage each other.

10. And here's what I think we ought to hammer home about that...

I'll say it again: SARAH PALIN IS A COWARD.

And that is a threat to national security.

The McCain campaign has stepped in to limit the format of the vice-presidential debates because poor widdle Sarah Palin is afraid to face Joe Biden.

We're supposed to cut her a break because she's "a relatively inexperienced debater" and facing Biden on the same terms that McCain will face Obama would put her "at a disadvantage and largely on the defensive."

Awwwww. Bless.

This is not playgroup, people. She's a grown woman, and she's out in the big bad world now.

We can't afford to have a vice-president who is so fragile that she needs protection from something as minor as a televised debate.

Sarah Palin wants to be one 72-year-old-melanoma-battered heartbeat away from the presidency, and expects us to rely on her to deal with Putin when she's too afraid to even face Biden?

9. If there is a debate
Biden will not say anything to show her up. He doesn't need to because Palin will destroy herself just like she has up to now. He can simply be brilliant in his answers and explain things to Gwen Ifill and the audience.

If Palin has a hearing gadget hidden in her beehive hairdo (like Bush's pack during the debates) she'll still screw up because she will only be fed the sound bites. There isn't a Republican alive who can debate by fleshing out any thoughts. They don't talk in rational ways because they don't think much. They parrot. But the voice in her ear may actually make her sound less incoherent, again just like Bush. Because when Bush and Palin speak off the cuff they end up getting confused by the sound of their own words.
