And no, he's clear not a neo-con or neo-liberal war monger. He's said repeatedly that he believes the past 8 years of U.S. foreign policy has been god awful.

He's trying to get elected. Taking a deeply unpopular pov is not the way to do that.

I don't like that he called ANY country a "rogue" nation- I don't think that language illuminates anything, but if Obama wasn't seen as tough and ready to be CiC, last night, he'd be in a world of trouble today.

1. First off, I don't think DU is that influential...
Second off, Chavez isn't exactly virtuous, but calling Venezuela a rogue state is irresponsible, even before an election. Chavez is neither an angel nor a devil, he's a man who was freely elected in a democracy. When the TRUTH is unpopular, I fear for the future of this nation.

3. Gratuitous bashing of Venezuela is no good. Shame on Obama.
It makes me fear we'll just see more of the same old bipartisan consensus imperial foreign policy. Maybe a kinder, gentler version.

And pandering to American psychos is disgraceful.

4. Agreed: Stick with kitchen table issues
Voters don't really care about Chavez.
