I am watching the replay of the debate on C-Span, and am so relieved to see that Sen. Obama speaks in the way Americans do.

Unlike some politicians who were incapable of dropping their professorial, stentorian demeanor and talking like regular folks...


He proves that it is possible to talk like a regular person, without sounding like a blithering idiot, like POS Bush.

1. He Played The Presentages...

Almost every issue Senator Obama addressed polls have shown he's been with the majority, and used that knowledge wisely. His answers were focused on those sentiments rather than attempting the theatrics Gramps kept playing. Obama made constant camera contact and spoke very calmly and straight forward. The snap polls from the debates verify this.

Senator Obama's strategy was not to drop a bomb here...no need to. There are two more debates to come. This one was to set the impression of being "Presidential"...looking the role...cool and in command. This is what helped Kennedy vs. Nixon...and I saw Senator Obama playing that same game. No one remembers a zinger JFK threw out that night, but the overall impression...and that was what Senator Obama did very well last night.

Obama is going to use the debates to "seal the deal"...and IMHO he went a long way in doing that last night, as he has over the past two weeks as the wheels on Camp Gramps continue to fall off.
