Listen to me Barack Obama and the campaign team

At the next debate, you need to spend some time on why people pay federal, state and local taxes and why they are not seeing better schools, education, infrastructure, health care, etc. You need to put it on the table that people are paying taxes without representation. You need to tear up the earmarks agenda and present spending requests in terms of what people are entitled to from their taxes - roads, bridges, schools, etc. Requesting taxpayer money for the social good is not a bad thing. You also need to memorize all of McPOW's wasteful spending in Arizona.

You must speak in terms of 'government of the people' and stress that McPOW is planning to continue Bush's policies of misusing taxpayers money and giving it to the rich. Additionally you need to ask the American people if they think people who want to gut 'government of the people' should be allowed to govern.

Present lots of illustrations.

That was a good performance last night but the above will be the final nail in the coffin of the plutocrats.

That is all.

Sp.

1. I think Obama will blow McCain out of the water at the next debates
McCain's gonna be repeating his same talking points and Obama will get into specifics on how he'll help the average American.

2. A line I would like to see Obama Use
"John, yes, you are a maverick 10 percent of the time but a obedient member of the President Bush's herd 90 percent of the time." America cannot afford a 10% maverick.

10. OF the people, BY the people, FOR the people
My daughter last year and my son this year (grade 7 speech and drama) had to memorize the Gettysburg address. We worked on the OF, BY, FOR and talked about what this means. It is so powerful. And we, the people, need to reclaim it.
If you haven't read it for awhile, take a look.

11. The use of "earmarks" as a whipping boy needs scrutiny
Many or even most earmarks are useful and necessary -- the problem is with allowing politicians to hand them out as plums to their constituents and local businesses.

America needs roads and bridges -- just not roads and bridges to nowhere.

Even that grizzly bear DNA study McCain loves to mock had a serious purpose -- preventing the grizzly from going extinct.

If you eliminated all earmarks entirely, one of two things would happen. Either the country would do without many important infrastructure projects and scientific studies essential to local industries and tourism. Or else you'd have to put those appropriations under the control of government bureaucrats instead of politicians -- which would be a very good thing overall, but wouldn't do much to reduce government spending.
