I THOUGHT OBAMA WAS GOING
To perform much better on the economy and was nervous on the foregn policy issues.. however, he let McCain pound him on the very issue i thought obama was going to win, and performed extremely well on McCain's supp strong field.

Now, I am hoping Obama didn't want to throw everything outthere on the economy because he is saving it for the second debate..

Obama should go forceful on McCain on this front. The economy is in shambles because McCain has supported Bush in every single economic legislation.

I know Obama needed to look relax and presidential, but lets be honest folks, he missed tons of opportunties to say and outline the differences between them instead of agreein with Mcfullofshit a lot.

Just my two cents.

8. He did great!!!
As a matter of fact, he is winning in overall. I just point those two points that I thought he could have performed better.

But in overall, proving he is ready to lead, poised, calm and presidential, he looked.

11. He had some very good moments...

He kicked McCain in the nuts a few times. I think his supporters wanted to see Obama wipe the floor with McCain. Yet there were some of us who were nervous because of McCain's ability to throw out jingoistic sound bytes. However, Obama did not ramble on, his demeanor was impeccable, and he did what he had to do. McCain was an ass, and he would not even look at Obama, which I found insulting, bordering on racist. Obama was very nice, and the worst thing he did was say, 'McCain is right, BUT...' He will be coached not to say that in the next debates.

One more point: Obama looked the more Presidental of the two. McCain looked like a burning, seething pile of hemoroids.

16. I saw that bit w/ McCain not looking at Obama on the morning news & was so disgusted by it.
That kind of behavior alone may push the fence sitters towards Obama because it was just so very wrong.

Between that & Palin....I'd say it's looking more and more like McCain doesn't have much of a chance.

2. We're hard on Obama, because we know he could have done better.
But for people who had their first real glimpse of him last night, it appears he impressed them. I don't doubt he will do even better next time. I think Obama just needs to get used to the fact that McCain lies every chance he gets, and to not let that put him off balance.

4. I agree
I was sittin in front of the T.V. machine screaming the answers Obama should have been giving and he just let shit slide. I don't get it except if he had given MY answers he probably would have been accused of beating the shit out of a befuddeled old asshole.

5. Obama came off looking like he knew his shit...
not as a rookie, and not like he would be a risk...He did a great job. Mccain came off as a cranky old man. he couldn't even make eye contact, and he spouted random, weird things...ie: "what senator obama doesn't understand is that the average south korean is three inches taller than the average north korean? WTF? was this a trivia game? is that a point to consider when choosing the next president?

Obama stuck to the issues, appeared strong and decisive. McCain couldn't even decide whether he was gonna make it to the debate, ended up going back on his word. not decisive, not a leader and just too old to be POTUS.

just MY two cents.

9. I must have missed the part where McCain pounded him......
McCain was adequate but he didn't dominate in any area let alone administer a pounding.

10. You're expecting ONE person to manage to include way too much in
a very short time. I think Obama did just fine. I'm sure each one of us, me included, was screaming at their TV with the one answer we "knew" would demolish McNuts, and then screamed "You MISSED IT!" But it's impossible for even the smartest person to have every idea on the tip if their toung, and get them all in the conversation.

There are TWO MORE Debates folks, and Obama will win those too!

13. I think Obama walks a fine line

If he did the things many of us would do he'd be portrayed by the pundits as "an angry black man".

He has a fine line between attacking and appearing threatening. He handled it well.

I hope in the next debates he will focous on the middle class more. He needs to let most Americans know he is looking out for them.

15. Totally agree with your
statement. Obama must look right on tv and say to those struggling folks, "i am here and you have my back.. because this guy over here, has been in washginton dc for too long and has not done anything for you"
HE MUST SPEAK straight to the struggling falks who have two and three jobs to make ends meet, in my family i have a few members of these that are tired and are looking for some solutions.
All they do is work! without any benefits!!

Obama must speak to these folks.
