Second Presidential Debate 10/7 - questions from audience - what are yours?
Second Presidential Debate
Date: October 7 – Site: Belmont University – Moderator: Tom Brokaw – Staging: Town Hall debate – Format: The moderator will call on members of the audience (and draw questions from the internet). Each candidate will have 2 minutes to respond to each question. Following those initial answers, the moderator will invite the candidates to respond to the previous answers, for a total of 1 minute, ensuring that both candidates receive an equal amount of time to comment. In the spirit of the Town Hall, all questions will come from the audience (or internet), and not the moderator.

What are YOUR questions?

Mine:

1. What do you see as the biggest mistake of the bush administration and what would you do to avoid repeating it?

2. What's the difference between your policy proposals and bush's?

1. My question:
It's obvious that the disparity of wealth between the wealthy and the middle class is getting wider. What would you do to address this issue?

3. OK, this may sound naive or dumb or whatever but I'd really like
to ask McCain why he thinks that the relative calm in Iraq will last after American troops have been reduced there. What's changed politically?

5. Hurricane FEMA
I'll probably ask 56 questions, but for now I'll just post about FEMA and disaster management in general.

1. FEMA's responses since Hurricane Katrina have not pleased many who have sustained disasters like the wildfires and the Gulf Coast Hurricanes. How would you improve FEMA?
2. Our nation's levees are in serious disrepair. We saw how bad things were early summer in the Midwest Floods and elsewhere. On your list of priorities, where does shoring up vital infrastructure like levees stand?

Sen. Obama, being from a river state, will see this as a softball and hit it hard.
Sen. McCain, being from a state of Denial, will probably talk about how he investigated and fought fraud and say he'll never let another Katrina happen again (ask the people of Houston and Galveston about that, Sen. McCain). Either that, or he'll mumble about spending cuts.
