Dems must include extraordinary concessions to taxpayers if they don't want to be killed by bailout
Given that the GOP is almost always successful with effectively smearing the Democrats via TV/radio, I just can't see how the Democrats won't suffer tremendously if this $700+ billion bailout goes through. The only way to ameliorate the political damage is to include some earth-shattering, paradigm-shifting tangible benefits for taxpayers. Something along the lines of...

1) $5,000 credit card or bank loan reduction in debt for each household.
2) Or a similar tax credit
3) mortgage renegotiation (though, I've read that's already been ruled out)
4) retroactive credit-card interest caps, with interest rates capped at no higher than 10%

Whatever it is, it has to be big, has to be quite significant.

1. Don't you understand? The Dems will NOT vote for this

without Repub support. That's why they even pay attention to the House Repubs. They could pass a bill without them (they have the majority you know) but they don't want to. So don't worry this won't be a Democratic bill. This will be bipartisan or nothing.

3. Even if they get Republican support, the bailout can still destroy them
The Repubs will simply repeat Big Lies over-and-over again and portray the bailout as All (Or Mostly) The Democrats' Doing. The Democrats cannot escape damaging GOP propaganda, especially on something like this.

That's why they have to sweeten this bitter pill as much as possible.

4. Well, if they made the top 1% pay for the entire bailout
I don't see where that would cause a problem for the Dems. Of course, their corporate sponsors wouldn't like it but if the Dems don't listen to the PEOPLE for a change, there will be hell to pay come Nov.
