1. No chance...
I'd bet the house that a "family emergency" comes up on Wednesday prohibiting her from attending. Rudy Guiliani will stand in!!!!

2. He praised his great running mate, tonight.
Or, should I say "soul mate?" She'll be on the ticket. If she leaves, it will just heighten the fact that McCain never gets it right the first time. Poor judgment, and all.

8. No way in hell she makes it through that debate...
After watching the debate tonight...I don't know HOW it could be done. Hell! She can't even
make sense while engaging in chit chat with Katie Couric, how in the world is she going to
engage in a formal discussion and debate on world affairs, foreign policy and the economy--when
she knows absolutely nothing.

And she's debating---she's not just answering questions--she's debating JOE BIDEN!!

Biden isn't just a foreign policy wonk. He's a consummate communicator. He doesn't come off as tough
and brazen. He is conversational and he's very graceful with his words. He will utterly destroy her
and he won't have to do it by being harsh. He will simply state the facts and demonstrate his
vast knowledge---and she will be flustered because she is not in his league. Not even close.

I just don't even see how this debate is possible. I really don't.

9. It's a no-win situation for McCain
She clearly doesn't have the depth of knowledge to do anything but recite platitudes. She can't even answer softball questions. Biden may gaffe occasionally, but he's pithy and has a knack for explaining the issues simply. He also has an enormous command of every relevant issue. She's toast, and it hurts McCain if she debates.

But if she pulls out of the debate, she's STILL toast, because the outcry about her sequestration from the media will be amplified a hundred-fold. They'll focus on the weak Gibson interview and the terrible Couric one, play the worst clips from those over and over, and reveal her as unqualified. She's already tanking, and this will speed her down that same path. Again, McCain loses.

If she drops from the ticket, suddenly the most important decision of McCain's political career is an abject failure. He's displayed a lack of judgment, an dangerous impulsiveness, and an inability to lead. BIG loss for McCain.

I don't think they'll drop her before the debate. They'll put her in and pray Biden gaffes. If (when) he doesn't, they'll assess the situation from there.

Doesn't look good for them, though.

10. You have a good point....
...the entire world knows that she will likely implode in a traditional debate. She can't even
recite her lines to Katie Couric. How in the world can she fill 90 minutes?

I really wonder if they'll have a complete and total attack strategy. They'll send Palin out there, knowing
that she can't hold her own--and they'll have her unleash attack after attack on Biden. That's really
they're only hope. That she attacks Biden and tries to act tough, and that is somehow trips him up and
pisses him off--and she somehow doesn't totally fail.

That's what I would expect. She has no shame. She was waving her hand in the air, imitating Obama "testing
his finger." She's not qualified to lick Obama's shoes, but yet she'll insult him and lie about him.

That's the only hope the McCain camp has got of preventing her from looking like the biggest joke EVER in the
history of US Presidential elections. She'll come out swinging and insulting Biden--and repeatedly lying.

If Joe can remain calm through it all--and call her out for what she's doing--and elegantly and calmly demonstrate
his expertise and skills--he'll be fine.

I think expecting little-miss dopey to show up is a mistake, because they're only prayer is to unleash a pit
bull (with lipstick, of course). No way in hell, can they turn dumb and inexperienced into smart and worldly
by next week. So, they've got to go on the attack and make Joe look sideswiped and throw him off of his game.

Will it work? It's a long shot. Biden has to be prepared for her to lie her ass off every five seconds about
Joe and about Obama.

12. McPOW's problem is that if he ditches her there does the
rest of the lunatic fringe aka the base.

11. yes and yes
and anyone who thinks she won't be on the ticket or will skip the debate is hopelessly naive. There is no way to replace her on the ticket without losing more votes than she already is costing them. She stays. That's a lock.

13. Yes. I don't think he'll dump her and I don't think she'll quit.
She's too arrogant. She's ready, remember?

But Biden will wipe the floor with her.
