The people who need to be influenced are the undecided voters. (Who are bigger dunderheads than people who are undecided at this point?) They're likely incapable of making a decision ... ever. So they need to be told what they saw and need to be told how to interpret what they saw.

And that comes from the pundits.

Further, the lower the capacity for critical thought, the higher the likelihood they watch FauzNooz. So that leaves the sweet spot between "too dumb to deserve to vote in the first place" at the high end, and "so stupid they watch FauxNooz" at the bottom of the (gene?) pool.

That's who these debates are for.

Tonight, it seems the media are slightly tilted to our side.

FauxNooz is not a part of the media. They are ground zero of Alternate Realityville.

2. The polls so far have Obama winning big
The media so far says it's a slight win for Obama.

6. Yup ... and that's all we need. This was McCain's strongest suit.

4. I totally agree. Which is why the first thing I did when the debate ended..
was turn off the TV. I did not want my thoughts about the debate to be skewed by the media.

7. That's what shocked me about the first Bush-Kerry debate
I was not a huge Kerry fan. Nevertheless, I thought John wiped the floor with Georgie boy to such an extent that I was convinced that Rove would find a way to cancel the remaining debates. It was kind of like a TKO. He was so battered that it made even me wince a little. I thought, "They can't possibly let this drubbing go on."

My big mistake was in failing to factor in MSM spin. In that case, they ignored the embarrassing incoherence and resurrected the clueless Bush, exalting him to the level of a bona fide competitor. Watch for them to do the same with Palin, assuming McThuselah chooses to keep her as his (running) mate.
