For those who want FDIC limits bumped, Jim Cramer agrees, but for different reasons..

He says that unless we put shelters in place for the wealthy, they will keep pulling money on "stealth" bank runs. Lets think about unintended consequences here folks. FDIC bumps, Bailouts, and the like are what wealthy people and institutions use as circuit breakers against personal risk.

1. FDIC and wealthy
It would be unpleasant to have a few million dollars that I was trying to keep safe. (Fortunately, that's not a problem here.) Even money funds are going under; where can you put the money to keep it safe? One trader said she was buying gold and burying it in her backyard. That's probably worked well for her.

More seriously, one option is to split funds into $100K pieces and invest it in CDs at a bunch of different banks, so each is FDIC insured. Alternatively, you could buy a bunch of treasury bonds; people were paying the gov't money just to hold onto their funds this week. So given all that, I'm not sure what Cramer's issue is.
