Hell yeah.

9. Please prepare yourselves
His is a very grave diagnosis, no matter how hard he fights.

Treatment bought him enough time to speak at the Convention. However, it might not have bought him much more.

I hope he beats the odds. I just know the odds are against him.

15. Yes, unfortunately, that's very true
the type of malignancy he has, is not a long-running illness. Time is measured in weeks-months..

I'm sure he wants to hang on at least long enough to vote for Obama...and if he lives past the election, his successor could be chosen/selected/elected in a separate, less volatile setting..

I have always hoped that Marty Meehan would eventually run, but I think he finally realized that kennedy & Kerry would never leave, so he left for academia..

23. I used to hear that Barney Frank wanted to succeed him. Now I hear they're looking at
Caroline Kennedy. I didn't think she even lives in MA (I thought she lives in NY). But I have a good source in the Boston area. Funny, she doesn't seem like the type who would even WANT to run for office. But, of course, circumstances alter cases...

18. I've known this all along
I was hoping that he would make it to the election, be able to vote for Obama, and see Obama win. I'm still hoping for that. Get through this Ted, we love you!

19. Don't go to the really bad place.....
Just remember, he's an elderly man (hard as that is to believe!) and he's on chemo and radiation. Those are really tough on the body. Having had many patients & a couple of relatives I cared for (one elderly) when they were on chemo, there can be some scary effects that are reversible. We just don't know at this point -- I'll wait until I know and hope to hell that this is something temporary and our Ted will be back among us soon.
