John McCain, George Bush and Republicans...get this straight!
This is NOT your money.

This is my money and my debt until the day I die.

This is my kid's money and his debt until the day he dies.

This is his children's debt and my grandchildren's debt until the day they die.

Don't expect and gratitude from me for cleaning up the mess that you've made.

3. Agree. but it's gonna happen.
The best we can hope for is the least pain for us, the most pain for them.

7. I agree...

What concerns me is the candidates ability to follow through on ANY of their claims is now radically questionable.
Can either candidate say that there platform priorities can be carried out now?
I would really like to hear about a strategy for changing america when most of america won't be able to afford it. :(

But you're right, the bailout's going to happen. And anyone standing in it's way too long will most likely get railroaded.

It's a little foolosh to post a message on DEMOCRATIC UNDREGROUND adressing republicans... Bush and McCain nonetheless.

Edit:

Also, after speaking to two of my close friends (accountants/investors for firms) they claim that while incredibly shitty, the bailout is necessary for the economy to try and avoid recession. Both tell me that the economy has painted us into a corner and we pretty much have no choice. The hope is that the damage caused by the bailout is less than a recession would have caused - if the recession can be avoided at all. Simply put, the bailout is an all or nothing gamble. I do trust thier judgement on the matter.

8. Of Course Accountants and Investors are in favor of the bailout..!!!
They are the ones who will get the money. Duh...? And BTW.. we have been in a recession for the last 2 years. We aren't trying to avoid ANYTHING. Don't hand me those tired old cliches about 2 consecutive quarters of negative GDP. Do you believe anything the GOP tells you? GOP says inflation is 3%... ya.. if you leave out Food and Gasoline. I guess Republicans don't eat food or drive their cars...

industry who says we have to have a bailout or it's all over.'

there is no reason for haste, here...if Lurch was correct last friday, our asses would have already been cooked by today...

i'll take my medicine, today...because i know i'm going to get a big dose of it sooner or later...

and later will be far worse...

11. I agree. And BTW.. I do not come to DU to post ANYTHING for Republicans.
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 01:24 PM by lib2DaBone
I go directly to their website and post it so they can see it. I'll tell them right to their FACE! I don't have to sneak around like slimey Republicans. I work hard for my money and I pay my taxes... I don't steal from the public coffers like they do. Here is a letter I just wrote to my CONgressman. Mr. Tim Mahoney-D 16 Florida. (He's the one who replaced Tim Foley who was playing "pee pee touch" with the 17 year-old-boys in the Hallway) Anyway.. Mahoney was a Repuke.. then he changed party to get Foley's old job... he is a DINO Democrat in name only. See if you can tell....
-------------------------------------------------

Dear Congressman Tim Mahoney, I read a quote from you today in the Port Charlotte Sun Herald Newspaper. They quoted you as saying that, "after the Taxpayers assume the "Assets" of these failed banks.. it will make our country stronger. We will gain from these Bailouts" I would like to point out that there are very few 'Assets' to be assumed from these failed banks. What the taxpayers are buying is worthless paper.. CDO's worth (maybe) 5 cents on the dollar if we are lucky. How is this going to benefit taxpayers? We are bankrupt as a country and you are adding to the problem. I wish you would consider spending this $700 billion at home. Put people back to work fixing our roads and bridges. And by the way, bring back the 5 million jobs you in CONgress have sent to China in the last 8 years. I look forward to you and your fellow staffers acting in a responsible way for once..becoming part of the solution.. not part of the problem.
