Anybody gullible enough to fork over ANOTHER trillion to Wall Street
because some Goldman Sachs tool got Dumbya to go on teevee with ANOTHER song and dance (you won't be able to buy car! you might lose your farm! It could get really really scary!) deserves to get fleeced out of their house, car and job. But I'm not, so I say f##k you Wall Street, just because you couldn't wreck Social Security in eight years doesn't mean I'm not delighted to see you go down in flames.

:grr: :grr: :grr:

RIP junk bond derivative mortgage-backed security shysters, and you can pay for your own damn funerals.

:hi:

1. No doubt you feel better now.
Once you are rational again, may I suggest you do some reading about 1929 - 1941?

3. Bush wants a blank check for $700 billion
We now know that he knew about this problem for many months now, but chose to wait until the last week that Congress was in session to drop this on them. Also, Paulson and Bush have indicated that the $700 billion is just an arbitrary large sum of money. They don't know how much they need because they don't know what they're doing. They don't know if this is going to work. If it doesn't work, then too bad for the taxpayers and the problem becomes even larger. It's time for people to stop pretending that economic times always have to be great. Let's pass on the bailout, deal with the recession, but live to fight another day.

4. Questions...
Are you saying that unless we the people bail out these guys the country will inevitably drop into another 'Great Depression?" Further, are you saying that there are no alternatives to the big bail-out?

If bailing out a bunch of corrupt gazillionaires is the only solution, then I'm with the OP - let their whole damned system go up in flames. But I don't believe for a minute that this is the case.

5. Yeah, if only Hoover had handed all the country's gold
over to the Wall Street types who screwed up in 1929, things would have been soooooo much different
