Washington Mutual is closed by the government, then sold to JPMorgan Chase.

The instant after I see that headline, an email hits my in box from Wamu with the subject line

WaMu News | The holidays start today.

So I figure "holiday" must mean some kind of "bank holiday", like temporarily closing down or something. But instead, I open the email and find this:



Is it any wonder people are having a hard time taking this "crisis" seriously. Everybody, including the banks, seem to be real busy playing business as usual.
