Here's a real Democrat with a plan, Kucinich Bail Out Plan
To all you "Democrats" who think Kucinich isn't a serious politician...
And to all "Democrats" that sat on your hands and allowed him to be black-balled from the nomination debates...

Here's a bit of WWDD:

"... will also insist that all of the following issues be considered in whatever Congress passes:

Reinstatement of the provisions of Glass-Steagall, which forbade speculation
Re-regulation of the finance, insurance, and real estate industries
Accountability on the part of those who took the companies down:
a) resignations of management
b) givebacks of executive compensation packages
c) limitations on executive compensation
d) admission by CEO's of what went wrong and how, prior to any government bailout

Demands for transparencey
a) with respect to analyzing the transactions which took the companies down
b) with respect to Treasury's dealings with the companies pre and post-bailout
An equity position for the taxpayers
a) some form of ownership of assets
Some credible formula for evaluating the price of the assets that the government is buying.
A sunset clause on the legislation
Full public disclosure by members of Congress of assets held, with possible conflicts put in blind trust.
A ban on political campaign contributions from officers of corporations receiving bailouts
A requirement that 2008 cycle candidates return political contributions to officers and representatives of corporations receiving bailouts ..."

5. This would be my first choice too. Go Dennis.
But if we can't get Dennis' version passed, I think Dems should at very least draw line in sand, with Shumer's
proposal. He basically called them on their bluff, of needing $700,000 RIGHT NOW!!! ...

11. Though I'm no fan of Moonbeam McCrazyPants, I can't deny that he's always busting his ass...
for the people.

Unfortunately this plan is obviously unconstitutional, whether or not his fans care about that.

18. Please explain why you believe the plan is "obviously unconstitutional"?
No corporation is required under the Kucinich plan to do anything. They are simply required to meet certain conditions to qualify for this extraordinary, massive and unprecedented public assistance. Any corporation has the option of not applying for or not accepting this tax-payer funded public assistance. Considering the FBI and the Department of Justice are now investigating the very strong probability of criminal culpability on the part of many of these corporations that are now begging for their share of this 700 billion dollar public dole - setting stringent requirements for such an extraordinary publicly funded welfare program is hardly unconstitutional or unreasonable.

Just as an able body adult and many other other individuals are required to meet VERY stringent conditions to receive even minimal sub-subsistence level public assistance.

24. MoonbeamMcCrazyPants?
Referring to one of our hardest-working, most progressive Democrats in that manner is despicable.

Admittedly kind of funny, but still despicable.

12. I have sent this to my Congressman and both Senators.
Since David Scott is a Blue Dog and I am blessed with 2 of the worse wingnut Senators ever, I left out Dennis is the author and reworded a little to reflect my personality. They'll ignore stock cut and paste. I am unsure if they will ignore a heartfelt letter from someone who bizarrely enough was once invited to be a Republican delegate (have NEVER voted or contributed to any Republican ever).

15. Here's a leaders proposal.
Oversight! Have some oversight and accountability. It's our tax money... what do we get out of it? Obama wants a return on our investment. That would take the profit in the bailout and give it to the people instead of just the government. And more...

The only trouble is that nobody takes Dennis seriously! The media doesn't and his own party doesn't.

He is one of the only ones really fighting for us and justice. I can only think of one other that comes close to him, Henry Waxman.

23. Anyone who thinks DK is not a "serious" politician
Needs to go join some DLC community and stop pretending to be on the left.

DK is very, very serious about progressive values and unlike others, he won't shut up.
