Poll question: Will the economy hold out till January 2009?
It has been my long held belief that the neocons are going to let the bottom fall out of the economy when the Democratic President takes over. They have been looting the system for more than a decade and now as the clock is running out, it looks like we might not even be able to make it to January.

What do you think. Will the economy hold out till January 2009 before it crashes?

fwiw: this is not a thread celebrating the impending downfall of the economy. We are all gonna suffer in this one.

1. I think it will happen before January
Alot of us have thought this was coming for a long time. I'm not sure they can succeed in delaying it until 2009. This is going to get bad.

3. The real bomb starts to explode in January
and that's the Alt-A and jumbo ARM loans resetting, something they will continue to do through early 2010.

The bailout will definitely be needed and the sooner the better. However, we will make it to January without it and the Democrats will have time to put a real plan together to push through as the first item of business when the new Congress sits.

2. I think they would like to keep it afloat until then,
but they have pretty much lost control of the situation. All these remedies seem to do is delay the inevitable.

4. I don't have a clue...
I remember reading "Crossing the Rubicon", and expecting this to happen in 2006. I don't get how we have that much influence over our own economy..seeing as how we're owned by other countries.
