Stupid big-ass truck... bwahahahahahaha
Also saw when running errands today - I pull up to the p.o., and here's this gigantic 4-dr. truck w/equally huge mud-tread, wide tires. Every time I see one of these, or a Hummer, or a huge SUV, I start muttering cuss words under my breath, but lately I've had an enjoyable little new twist: they frequently say "For Sale" on 'em, and sho' nuff, this one did too.. hahahahahaha! I'm SO sorry ... and they won't have an easy time selling them, either.

But let me add a disclaimer: I'm not talking about true farmers or ranchers who actually USE big trucks - I'm talking about ones like I saw today - shiny, polished, frivolous extras... the kind of thing that is nothing but a Tonka toy, which will likely never see one tiny dirt clod.

2. Where I live, folks farm and need 4wd trucks
They like to go to a large city and buy one from the "city slickers" because they know they have never been driven off road.

3. Yeah--check out Craigslist in any city, and these HUGE SUV's are all for sale cheap!
Also, the big McMansions in the ex-burbs are going for a song, since it requires 80 dollars in gas to commute to your job 2 hrs away from your home.

Is it any wonder that we're stressed out and unhealthy in this country?

4. I've got umpteen ideas for a SF novel along these lines - abandoned SUVs turned into
planters or shelters, McMansions falling apart, survivors planting crops in the yards... I need to WRITE IT. :^)

8. Like that show 2 mo's ago: The earth after humans
I think it was on History or NGeo--anyway, it did CGI on how all our buildings, cars, and other Human Sacred Cows will deteriorate really really fast without our species to shore them up. All the permanent marks we've tried to make, the forever legacy we want to leave would be gone in a matter of decades. Totally awesome! It showed animals living in the huge cars and eating in decaying kitchens of McMansions--so much for our manifest destiny!

I'd always be interested in reading a book like that!

9. How would you know if they dont take it offroading at all just cause its clean?
Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 08:00 PM by CRF450
I take mine off-roading sometimes but I like to keep it very clean soon afterwards. I dont want dried up mud sticking to it as seen in this picture of my truck...

When its clean (this was before I took the graphics off)
