Now that we the people own the mortgages on millions
of homes, I trust that there will be no excuse for there to be any homeless in America, right? We may as well put those empty homes to good use, and it's probably going to cost us less than all those motel rooms for temporary emergency housing.

1. Great idea, however
sadly, we only own the liability, not the assets here :/

2. ah, I think you mean own millions in bad mortgages
because that's all we've purchased, was the crap. You can be sure that the US taxpayer will not see ONE DIME of profit for these purchases.

Its all in the details..

Whats the present market value? Who is doing the appraisal?

What price will "We" pay err forgive for the property? 20% 30% 49% ?

Will we allow people hav who problems with their present mortgage Renegotiate to a lower interest rate based on their properties present values?

Just Bailing out the "Banks" that facilitated this mess is a NO GO. What do the taxpayers get in return?

What penalty do these "Banks" recieve for the taxpayer's acceptance of these Toxic assets?
