Looking at this link view the Dow Jones Industrials from the last century to now. In each graft it shows where every Republican President From Hoover on had a recession. Also take note of long length of economic growth in the 60's to Nixon. I am not saying the Dems never had a recession. But they had far fewer. I won't mention the longest length of economic growth of all:Bill Clinton. His was the best of all and speaks for itself.

And while you're at it take some startling facts about The Great Depression.\:

1. One Of The GOOP's Biggest Lies
Look at virtually every major financial mess this country has been in over the past century and you'll see a Repugnican hand or hands in the middle of it. From the "roarin' 20's" of Tea Pot Dome that led to the Great Depression...to recessions in the 50's and the oil crisis/vietnam defecit inflation of the middle and late 70's. The current mess is the end result of the "Raygun prosperity" that turned the markets into gambling casinos and corporations into money pits that grew as more deregulation came along...eventually the foxes completely got control of the henhouse in the 90's...the "Gingrich Revolution" and went into hyperdrive since 2001.

The fact that repugnicans believe in "less government" or "government being the problem" is their biggest problem. They can't govern. Their zeal to suck up to their constituents have led to destructive tax cuts and the fleecing of the treaury for their own corporate welfare system.

Cheers...

2. This "bailout" plan is nearly a direct copy
of the plan put in place by Franklin Roosevelt in his first term, the Reconstruction Finance Corporation. It took debt from banks and financial institutions, gave them financial breathing room, and let them get solvent again to enable loans and mortgages.

The republicans hated it and called it socialism.

They sucked even then, still do.
