East TN & Carolina DUers check in.
Heading out to Myrtle Beach tomorrow. First vacation in years and probably the last for years due to the economy.

Is gasoline available? Nashville seems to be running out.

Short supply lifts gas price
Tightness to ease as refineries get fixed

By Kelly Marshall Fuller - kfuller@thesunnews.com

Gas prices will remain higher and fuel will be harder to find, as refineries in Gulf states work to return to life after recent hurricanes, according to AAA Carolinas.

Some Grand Strand gas stations have been left with no gas for short periods of time, beginning in the days after Hurricane Ike.

Costco of Myrtle Beach was without fuel for a short time Tuesday morning before gas became available again in the afternoon.

The limited supply of gasoline has affected heavy equipment workers and construction crews that need large amounts of fuel for their daily tasks, said Sharon Jordan, manager of Jerry Cox Fuel Co. in Conway.

has to come over the mountains....and they think of the eastern part of the state first IMO) in the Asheville.....we're pretty much good to go and we had a few days of almost no gas. There are still some spotty shortages but it's pretty much okay. I haven't checked today but we just had our dirt road graded, etc and the guy who did it said the prices are down a little, too (I think he said he got it for about $3.69 -- it was $4.19 when I stopped at BP yesterday).

9. I haven't been out today to try to purchase any, but a station
that I frequent had signs posted on the pumps 2 days ago limiting purchases to 10 gallons at a time. I'll try to pay attention when I'm out this afternoon. (Hwy 58 area out from Chattanooga)

I hope that you have a great vacation.
