I have a neat little scenerio sheet that goes along with the Bill of rights to explain each of the first 10 amendments and helps the kids know their rights.

I started out with

On Sept 17, 1787 a group of COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS set out to strengthen the Articles of Confederation ect..........

1. ugh
Serioulsy. I understand why you did it but injecting your personal political potshots into what you are teaching kids is pretty messed up. As a parent I'd be pretty pissed if my kid came home telling me that a group of community organizers worked to create the US constitution. Madison was a member of the Virginia State Legislature, not a community organizer.

4. jazz
is nice but they were not community organizers. To call them that is pretty disrespectful to their commitment to this country and the individual states before that.

Good for you!

I'd be thrilled if my kids came home with that.
