They play clips of Obama's speeches throughout the day. I've never heard a station actually take an active role in campaigning for a candidate of any party.

This is the progressive radio station in DC.

1. Yeah, they just started doing that! Love it, though puzzled because
Dan Snyder bought the station back in June. Was sure that 1260 was a goner but so far, they are still on.

3. You can't assume political leanings of a guy like that. Now, if they'd get the radio broadcasts...
of the game in synch with the television, I'd be happy. As is, they're a FULL play behind!!!!!!!!!!!

7. Heh, actually wasn't worried about Snyder's political leanings, just worried that
we'd get yet another "out of sync" sports talk station...

4. I love it
I've become a listener since you mentioned 1260 in a post the other day (re: someone asking about Steph's show). The reception isn't the best but it is better than listening on 1500 in the morning and then hearing O'Reilly or Beck when I get in the car in the afternoon.

5. I have a fairly short commute, but I enjoy hearing
Bill Press in the drive in, Stephanie Miller if I am traveling, and Ed Schultz after lunch.

I can't stand Lionel though. He just grates on me. I much preferred Thom Hartmann.

6. Depending on when I take my husband to the Metro

I listen to Press or Miller. Once I get home I stream KTLK (Los Angeles) over the internet. One of the reasons is so I get Hartmann. I don't Lionel either. I thought he was mildly amusing when he had his television show but he got old after the second show. I haven't cared for him since.

Just found this:

Red Zebra does "Obama 1260" and "McCain 570"

Two political talk stations have debuted in the Washington DC-area, as Red Zebra launches “McCain 570” and “Obama 1260” on two of its stations. WTNT “McCain” features its previous lineup: conservative talkers Bill Bennett, Laura Ingraham, Mike Gallagher, Dennis Miller, and Michael Savage, along with news from the Fox Radio Network. WWRC “Obama” is the home of Stephanie Miller, Ed Schultz, Lionel, Rachel Maddow and Ron Reagan, with news coverage supplied by CNN and CNBC. The two station’s temporary identities will run through the end of this year’s presidential campaign.
