China paper urges new currency order after "financial tsunami"

BEIJING (Reuters) - Threatened by a "financial tsunami," the world must consider building a financial order no longer dependent on the United States, a leading Chinese state newspaper said on Wednesday.

The commentary in the overseas edition of the People's Daily said the collapse of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc (LEH.P) "may augur an even larger impending global 'financial tsunami'."


Trial balloon, but very real threat. Things just don't "get published" over there. This would relegate us to third world status instantly. Asian markets are not going to get clobbered forever, they will pick up the ball and just go home.

I couldn't believe it, shipping our chickens there to be processed, then shipped back, to save the corporations some money and throw americans out of work.
