HSBC cited as possible Morgan Stanley suitor
SINGAPORE (Reuters) - London-based bank HSBC has been cited as a possible buyer of U.S. investment bank Morgan Stanley broadcaster CNBC reported.CNBC said according to unnamed sources, Morgan Stanley is in talks to possibly be acquired by China's CITIC Group, though no deal was certain.

"Morgan Stanley's senior management has been in talks with a number of potential buyers, and a deal becomes more likely as the investment bank's stock -- which plunged more than 24 percent Wednesday --declines further.

China's CITIC Group? Doesn't China also have one of the largest stakes in Freddie and/or Fannie?

2. HSBC Blows!!
They took over some other bank that I used to have a credit card with. Cancelled the card because their billing practices and fees were ridiculous. Had a zero balance when I cancelled it, but they tried to add fees after the account was closed. Then interest on the non-existent fees. Then late charges when the fake fees and the fake interest weren't paid.

Assholes, of a most vile nature. The Chinese couldn't be any worse than HSBC.

3. I hear you
In today's mail was a hot letter from Sears saying they were closing my account because it had been delinquent for so long. I called them and asked how in the blue blazes of hell my account was delinquent since I myself had canceled the card 6 *&#^&@^% years ago and it had a ZERO balance on it. Got a fancy run around and was told to have a good day.

4. I had problems with HSBC-Qatar
Had over $500 US still in the account. So I went to an HSBC branch in the US to try and get it out so I wouldn't lose it. They said each branch of HSBC in each country is independent and there wasn't anything they could do.

HSBC in Qatar was corrupt. I have no reason to believe HSBC in the US would be any different
