POLL: Palin provided "limited burst of interest"; 60% concerned of prospect of President Palin
According to a national CBS News/New York Times poll, Sen. John McCain has not succeeded in convincing Americans that he is an agent of change, and Sen. Barack Obama is seen as more likely to shake things up in Washington, D.C.

The poll puts Obama ahead by a margin of 48 percent to 43 percent, a figure virtually unchanged from a mid-August survey completed before the Democratic and Republican conventions.

It found that McCain's pick of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as a running mate produced "a limited burst of interest" in the Republican ticket, but helped McCain "only among Republican base voters."

The survey has some disturbing news about the Palin pick.

More than 6 out of 10 voters surveyed said they would be concerned if McCain couldn't finish his term, and Palin became president. By contrast, two-thirds of those surveyed felt that Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware is qualified to take over from Obama.

The poll was taken between Friday and Tuesday, as the crisis on Wall Street intensified and stocks began their tumble. It interviewed 1,133 adults including 1,004 registered voters. The margin of sampling error was plus or minus 3 percent.

2. They have nothing else to add to the mix
Nothing new, nothing interesting, nothing that will change the effed-up status quo.

It's downhill from here.

4. Palin the Straw Lady....McCrudes clutching at straws to save his campaign...he latched on to her
throwing the Country First thing out the window....he was thinking of himself and not the Nation by picking such a weak inexperienced 1st time Gov and a small town Mayor.

More important is his persona of being a ME person...self centered self absorbed

Obama is a WE type of guy...he thinks in terms of WE...altruism/benevolent

big diff from McPain

5. 10 out of 10 should be concerned about President Palin.
My pets would make a better President.

7. Whatever terror games they had planned for an October surprise are now on hold, obviously...
with the economy the way it is, we'd totally tank if something happened now.

They're in a totally precarious situation, no hope in sight, with a loser candidate and an untrustworthy veep... it's totally hopeless now.

13. Never underestimate the enemy
This is fertile ground for disaster capitalism. If you haven't done so already, you might want to read SHOCK DOCTRINE by Naomi Kline.

11. "More than 6 out of 10"... "By contrast, two-thirds"....

No wonder America is math illiterate.

"By the same margin, those surveyed felt" would have made it easier to compare the two quantities stated in those two sentences.
