Washington Mutual is now putting itself up for sale. Looking for anyone to buy.
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Washington Mutual, the nation's largest thrift, has put itself up for sale, the New York Times reported on Wednesday, citing unidentified people briefed on the matter.

Goldman Sachs is overseeing the auction process and is advising WaMu on the matter. Several prospective buyers from Wells Fargo to Citigroup to JP Morgan Chase are expressing some interest, but nothing is concrete so far.

6. Soon, the government will own all the housing stock
And all the insurance policies.

5. Make sure you get a receipt
In the event you find the deal was bad, you can't get a refund without a receipt.
