GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin shifted her tactics for the second time in three weeks on the "Troopergate" investigation, this time calling to end the very investigation that she herself called for and the one the McCain campaign had said was the only proper venue for a probe.

Both Governor Sarah Palin and her attorney general have raised new objections to 'Troopergate'

"Palin's Attorney General, who initially launched an internal probe into Palin, even before the legislature began theirs, is now asking the legislators to withdraw their subpoenas of Palin aides and Palin's husband.

"When the Alaska Legislature's Legislative Council, a Republican-dominated panel of 14 legislators which conducts business when the Legislature is out session, voted to investigate the firing of former Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan in July, Palin pledged her full support.

"But almost immediately after joining the GOP ticket, Palin's Troopergate strategy veered sharply. Despite her earlier vows of full cooperation with the probe, she declared it unlawful. The legislature lacked the authority to investigate the matter, she said. Instead, it should be handled by the state personnel board, Palin asserted -- a panel which is under her authority.

1. She is unfit....
Anyone who would make these outlandish statement---and call an investigation "illegal"--when
she initially said she would cooperate--is making an ass of themselves.

The nice thing is...this demonstrates that she has something to hide.

Americans are sick of the corruption. We just had eight long years of bullshit
like this. We are done.

As Americans get to know her, her favorables slide. And this only going
to minimize the drag on her all-ready tanking polls.

Keep it up, please Ms. Palin. Your behavior mirror's Bush's worst behavior,
and pretty soon so will your polls.

5. Yes, and she's in big trouble with this news outlet on her
Brian Ross broke Foleygate before 2006, in August. He produced scads of articles in just the first
two weeks of the scandal and went on regularly to expose the story through the election and even through
this year. It's starting again with him and his crew.

With the Bush crew, you see what they say about others and assume that's what they're up to.

She'll be off the ticket, I bet.

3. Original guilt
As in political from day one. She became mayor and the rake off began.

Yikes! The candidate is such a go "getter"!

4. Palin hadn't seen the Amnesty report
Walt Monegan, public safety commissioner, acknowledged there's not enough law enforcement in Alaska. He's drafting plans to create a system that will encourage villagers to become local officers and, eventually, state troopers. It will require legislative approval and should be introduced in Juneau next year, he said.

Gov. Sarah Palin hadn't seen the Amnesty report, said spokeswoman Sharon Leighow early Thursday afternoon.

Palin "has heard the message from the rural communities that they need more law enforcement" and is working with Monegan to increase law enforcement there, she said.

The report recommends Congress increase funds for the Indian Health Service, saying the agency doesn't provide enough money to pay for sexual-assault nurse examiners or the equipment to provide forensic exams. The agency is obligated by federal law to meet the health care needs of Alaska Natives and American Indians.

6. Great stuff.
I just read the article. It's excellent and very poignant. The sexual assault percentages are
simply unacceptable. This police chief sounds like a very decent guy. No wonder Palin couldn't
stand him.

7. K&R
McCain and Palin are scheduled to appear at The Resch Center in Green Bay tomorrow.

The former Brown County Republican Chaiman and Treasurer, Donald Fleischman, won't be introducing them due to his resignation after being arrested for sex acts, and other crimes against a runaway adjudicated boy sheltering in one of Donald Fleischman's properties.

I urge others in the region to join me outside The Resch Center to exercise our rights to protest against these fascist RW criminals.

9. Today on Amy's show, a marine mammal expert reported
that Palin used state of AK science to back her law suit against the Feds to delist polar bears -- when the state scientists agreed entirely with the Feds that they should be listed as endangered. She's as awful as she seems. :(

10. Todd Palin will testify?
Tom Van Flein, an Anchorage attorney representing the Palins, said a decision could be made by early this afternoon on whether Todd Palin will testify.

In a Wednesday letter to Colberg, Elton said he agreed with Colberg's staff on certain points of law as a precondition for the attorney general agreeing to allow several state employees to honor the legislative subpoenas to testify.

At least one legislator, Fairbanks Republican Rep. Jay Ramras, has questioned whether Colberg has a conflict of interest and should stay clear of the Troopergate matter, as Colberg admitted he once -- at the behest of Todd Palin -- called former Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan about Trooper Wooten.
