1. Probably an outside group, and not Rove.
Although it sounds like one of his slimy tricks.

4. Question to those who think it was an inside job --
Help me understand what would be their motive - what they would hope to accomplish by doing this. Thanks.

9. It eliminates evidence
Palin used a personal account for state business to hide it from public record. This gives them a way to destroy all of the evidence. Since the account has been hacked, they can point out that the hackers found nothing incriminating and even if something does turn up, it could have been planted since the account was compromised.

these ideas? Criminal minds - lots of practice. Thanks!

13. sympathy for sarah pain
what better way to get it then by making her a victim. Just like they did with them saying the press was sexist against her and all the other complaints that came out in the weeks since she became the vp candidate.

18. Nice try, people. The only ones who would feel sympathy for her are those
who are already dazzled by her. God I hate Republicans. Thanks!

I'd feel for her but my arms are not long enough. I also hate the republicans that back bush/cheney/cain/pain.

6. My case for inside job
Easy, no real risk, many benefits.

Get Palin to delete everything incriminating, clear the trash and then leak the account info. This disposes of all evidence with easy denial, provides an easy attack on Sarah's "Enemies", builds sympathy against attacks on her privacy.

Thgey didn't even have to really "Hack" her account since all they need is her cooperation.

8. Given that Rove is in charge, this makes the most sense.
any airing of her REAL emails would be loaded with incriminating evidence.

10. it's not even anything interesting--at all so imo it's not Rove also the only good piece
of info to come out is that woman uses Yahoo email to conduct state business. She's not too bright.

20. Oh, she's plenty bright. She wanted to keep things off the offical record
As for why I think it's an inside job, did you read the one where she explains to someone that she really does know what the vp does, and that she only said what she did because the constitution doesn't give a job description to office of VP.

When I read it I thought "no way she wrote this, someone planted it." So I can see that the "hack" might have been an inside job.

and just when she is refusing to testify and claiming that the emails she released prove her innocence in the Troopergate scandal.

22. Reminds me of Rove's 1986 bugging of his own offices...
...

In 1986, Rove, in Texas and working on a campaign for Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Clements, declared that Democrats had bugged his office. The accusation, which spurred an FBI investigation, never panned out, leading critics to charge that Rove had bugged his own office.

24. the group Anonymous is famous for this kind of thing
They're the ones taking on the Scientolgist without fear. They do this sort of thing all the time and always take credit for it. They're very savvy and bright and don't suffer fools gladly. I've no doubt they're behind this. So it's not an inside thing or democratic inspired thing. They saw an easy target of a famous fool, and took it--no politics involved really.

28. Sometimes I think they just want to have fun
This was a case where everyone heard she had the account and they just played with it a bit...I don't think they were out to get her, just playing like a cat with a mouse. With the Scientology thing, I think they set up a mission. I could be wrong, but it smells of toying rather than serious exposure. Either way, it's not really going to matter as nothing will come of it. Just my opinion. I don't know the group at all (but I do suspect they could take any one of us to task if they wanted to!)

I bet her password what her husband's name or something.
