IKE's leftovers hit Northern Ontario - rain, rain, & rain.
.
.
.

From Mattawa Ontario, about 400 clicks north of Toronto - dat's where I be at.

working in my greenhouse today it was warm and humid - about 75F and muggy as hell. Between 4 and 5pm, wind picked up, and temp dropped to 60 in 45 minutes

It's now 7:45. and has been raining steady for 2 hours - local weather - http://www.theweathernetwork.com/hourlyfx/caon0417/hourlytable/1 - has it raining for the next 12 hours

and down to frost levels by morning

crazy weather

and we are getting this from IKE way up here.

My wildest imagination can't fathom what all happened down Galveston/Houston way

6. Lucky you!
We did get the wind around midnight last night--very impressive. All the aluminum siding we had pulled off the house for recycling as we remodel the back corner blew all over the yard--maybe into others' yards too. Dunno yet. Some rain, and it's raining again now, but not torrents. Try to stay dry, Canuck!

8. Lucky me? - heck, my canopy outside my porch had over 45 gal. of water threatening to collapse it
.
.
.

I hadda rig up a garden hose, and then suck on it to siphon it off the tarp/porch roof

Took almost 20 minutes to drain off

So IKE made me suck on him!

eewwww!

But everything else was fine

I think I'll put up with our Northern cold rather than the Southern States wicked storms.

Snow I can handle

15 foot waves under and around my dwelling?

I think not.

Best wishes for those that dared to stay in IKE's path.

As Red Skelton used to always say at the end of his shows;

"God Bless"

He MEANT it,

and so do I

I think you get it . . .

11. I need the "sarcasm" smiley in the subject line!
Gah, so sorry you had to go through all that. As the front blew through at midnight and flung things all over the yard and downed tree limbs, I couldn't help but wonder what being in a real hurricane is like. "God Bless" INDEED.

7. We're not getting the rain in Mass., but we have the stinking humidity.
It's supposed to be in the upper 80s today, and the humidity feels like July.

Something many should seriously ponder,

well,

There goes the American Dream,

right?

10. Hi, neighbour
We got some severe winds this morning, but not a lot of rain. I saw on the radar (http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/radar/index_e.html?id=XFT) that it blew right past us.

I heard that the Pembroke/Chalk River region got clobbered.

Man, was it HOT yesterday. 25+ and HUMID. Now it's cold again.

Weird.

Check out some of my photos if'n you are curious

I got my first camera (a brownie) when I was about 8, my first 35mm ( Fujika?) when I was ten.

Click on my eyes below to take you to my main website with dozens of albums

This is a thumb of a series I took in 99, and ended up on North Bay's website for years on the main photo page

This is a thumb of a campsite I created and maintained for over 15 years on the Little Jocko river near Témiscaming

Here's a link directly to that album at the same website (my eyes)
