The seawall is apparently only 7 miles long...looks like a whole lot of places are/were built beyond the end of it

Sorry, off topic. Just a funky observation.

I saw a thread earlier with pics of Crystal Beach - not even hardly a blade of grass left, not even much debris - it's like the ocean swept the whole town out to sea. How far is that from Galveston?

check out the prices on these places.. seawall means less or no sandy beach... beyond the wall....lots of beach..until a hurricane, that is..
