Ike not over yet
We're getting hammered here in the Ozarks this morning. We've had 40-50 mph winds for the last few hours. Branson, Missouri area has numerous power outages, trees down on roads and buildings, one motel has a fire another has a tree through it. Water is rising in numerous areas.

For anyone in the path, prepare for troubles ahead.

2. We had 35 mph sustained winds from the north here in Bentonville.
It's all quiet now though.

I'm very sleepy, wish I'd been able to sleep during the worst of it.

Instead I'm stuck here at work.

3. Yeah, I'm supposed to go to work in about 45 minutes
I don't really want to get out in this. I don't think my job has electricity right now. There's a tree down on power lines.

I only have had a couple hours sleep before the storm woke me. I will be soooo tired.

4. We've been getting rain for about twelve hours now
My basement is beginning to take on water, everything around here is flooded, I have no idea if there is any way in or out of where I live, I wouldn't be surprised if right now I'm stranded. I hope my wife can make it back home from her trip.

We don't need this rain, we've had to much. Hills are slumping, crops are drowned, this year has been insane with rain, more actual rainfall than the flood of '93.

This is supposed to continue for a while longer, hopefully not much longer.

You folks stay safe out there, and stay dry.

5. Sorry you're having troubles from Ike in the Ozarks...
Hang in there... it'll be gone soon! Ike is headed up here to New England tomorrow
but we'll most likely just get the humidity from it. It's raining here now.

6. Little Rock got hit last night.
But we weren't in the direct path of Ike remnant like we were with Gustav. I noticed several downed trees, broken limbs, spotty power outages, a few street signs blown over, but all in all, not bad.

7. It's Gonna Make A Bigger Mess Here In Chicago
We've been hit with three days of pretty heavy rain...many creeks are topping their banks and lots of subdivisions are flooding. Looks like we'll get the residuals here later today...along with 25mph winds (well this IS the Windy City)...but the rain will just make getting around the next couple days a little trickier.

Stay safe...looks like it's moving fast and the damage will be minimal.

Cheers...
