Lies, lies and more lies seem to be the standard republican playbook this year.

Here in Oregon, our soon-to-be-retired republican U.S. Senator, Gordon Smith, and his friends at the RNC are filling the airwaves with what seems to me to be an unprecedented number of lies, despite the howlings of newspaper editors statewide, most of whom have supported him in the past.

And then there's the McCain/Palin script, which seems to have no basis whatsoever in reality.

The sheer audacity of these people amazes me.

There's a club that doesn't like to be crashed. More exclusive than the best Country club, better protected than the most privileged enclave, steeped in power, wealth, drugs, sexual deviance and fulfilled fantasies.

The only way to keep the club secure and financed is to keep the smartie-pants goodie two-shoes paupers from gaining access. Lies, propaganda, deception, and stolen elections are the walls that keep the place and tax money, privatization and campaign cash are its life blood. No extremes are too extreme to defeat those bent on getting elected and closing the parasitic paradise.
